Festivals represent so much of what we love: anticipation, surprise, great talent and a celebration of shared experience. At The Muse we’ve had the opportunity to be involved with and contribute to some of Brecon's own.

Brecon Jazz and Fringe

We are big supporters of The Brecon Jazz and Fringe Festivals an annual event on the second weekend of August. Over the “Jazz weekend” The Muse is an official Jazz Festival venue, with ticketed concerts and a small team that includes the wonderful DJ Neilly B, and food extraordinaires Cat Soup Kitchen collaborating to put on a fantastic free Fringe program with a hugely diverse lineup over four days.

Brecon Baroque Festival

Brecon Baroque Festival was established in 2006 by Rachel Podger, one of the world’s leading interpreters of Baroque music. Each October she gathers together some of the world’s leading period musicians for a long weekend of performances, talks and workshops in her home town of Brecon.

For the last five years The Muse has played a part. The space is taken over for the weekend and through the hard work of the festival designer and a range of local community groups the space is transformed into an immersive café experience with delicious food and drinks provided by The Hours Café of Brecon.

Musicians and students involved in the festival provide a lineup of accessible and free music over the Weekend.
